Night Shelters

Description

The Active Ageing and Community Care Directorate, in collaboration with other entities, offers a number of Night Shelters in Malta and Gozo. These are aimed for the older adults who live alone and who, for various reasons, may feel insecure.
 

Eligibility

·       Persons over sixty years and who are presently living alone. For Żejtun Night Shelter, preference is given to elderly females. For Mellieħa,  St Vincent de Paul and Dar Padova, Għajnsielem, Gozo Night Shelters, both males and females can apply;
·        Those who lead an independent life as regards to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs);
·        Not having any other medical condition, namely Dementia, which may, in some way or another, raise any problems with the rest of the residents using the Night Shelter.

What you’ll get

This service offers the elderly a secure and protective environment during the night.
 

Required Documents  

·        Completed application form
·        Medical Report signed by the respective General Practitioner
·        Recent Chest X-Ray
·        Signed Declaration Form

Fees and Charges

The fee for the use of the Night Shelter is of two Euros (€2.00) per night which has to be paid every month in advance.
